Each month, we collect One Thing for service and mission partners locally and globally.
September’s One Thing: Sensory Items for Legacy Church and Century High School
September’s One Thing is fidget toys, manipulatives, and stress reducing tools to make sensory bags that can be used by anyone at Legacy during worship and classes, and to give to Century high school for the counselors’ offices. This will be a 1 to1 collection, where we keep half of the items donated and send the other half to Century.
It’s estimated that 10% of the population has some level of difficulty tolerating sensory input, like sound, lights, crowds, and touch. That can make both church and school stressful to navigate. Sensory toys help improve focus, relieve nervous energy, reduce anxiety and stress. Tools like noise-cancelling headphones and weighted pads help relieve and comfort in stressful environments.
Help us practice radical hospitality at Legacy by making these tools available to anyone who may find them useful; and blessing Century High School counselors with these tools and toys as they serve their students.
Join in the mission by dropping donations off at the North or South campus on Sundays, or during the week at the Legacy office Monday through Thursday from 10am to 2pm, or skip the line and ship directly to the church at 4600 Durango Drive, Bismarck, ND 58503.
