Read: Mark 14:32-52

“Father, everything is possible for you. Take this cup from me. Yet not what I will, what you will” (Mark 14:36 NIV).

As humans, we’re sometimes handed situations we’d rather not face. However, as Christians, we know we serve a mighty God who is bigger than any situation. It’s a common and understandable reaction to pray for God to change our situation, even when we know this is His will for us. Isn’t it a comfort to know that Jesus had the same thought? Our situation will not be to lay down our life to save mankind from our sins like it was for Jesus, but it can be overwhelming and heartbreaking. Even though Jesus obviously didn’t look forward to what He knew was going to happen, He still knew that God’s will was for the best and for the love of all His people. If our current situation is God’s will for us, the rewards will far outweigh any pain we can encounter. Gather a couple of trusted friends and go to your own Garden of Gethsemane like Jesus did. Pray for peace, knowing God has a plan to use this time for good.
