Brandon Vetter – Lead Pastor  brandon@legacyumc.org

Brandon, what is your role on staff? I serve as the primary preaching pastor, provide vision and direction to the church and staff and perform baptisms, weddings and funerals.

Favorite Bible verse? I planted, Apollos watered, but God made it grow. 1 Corinthians 3:6

What is one of your weird quirks? I still collect LEGO sets; currently Wall-E, ECTO-1 from Ghostbusters, and the Delorean from Back to the Future sit in my office.

What’s the most unusual thing in your desk drawer? Probably the fact there isn’t anything; it is very organized and free from clutter.

Don Dinger – Pastor  don@legacyumc.org

Don, what is your role on staff? I serve as the support pastor at Legacy.

Favorite Bible verse? You will keep the man in perfect peace whose mind is kept on You, because he trusts in You. Trust in the Lord forever. For the Lord God is a Rock that lasts forever. Isaiah 26:3-4 has been our families scripture since my deployments. What is one of your weird quirks? I am in the US Army, and they did not issue me any quirks.

What’s the most unusual thing in your desk drawer? This might be unusual to others but I have a copy of FM 3-05.70 (Field Manual on Survival Tactics.)  Everyone has one, right?

Andy Early – Pastor Legacy South andy@legacyumc.org

Andy, what is your role on staff?  Pastor – Legacy South Campus.

Favorite Bible verse? “Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong. Let all that you do be done in love.” 1 Corinthians 16:13-14

What is one of your weird quirks? One of my weird quirks has to do with onions. I LOVE cooked onions, I CAN’T STAND raw onions!

What’s the most unusual thing in your desk drawer? I currently office in the family room. I find a lot of crayons in my drawer on Monday, sometimes snacks (cereal or goldfish are my favorites).

Al Roll – Operations Director al@legacyumc.org

Al, what is your role on staff? As Operations Director I am responsible for various administrative functions including Finance, Facilities, and Human Resources.

Favorite Bible verse? My favorite Bible verse is always the last one I read.

What is one of your weird quirks? I am a little OCD about counting things which is rather ironic since I am an accountant by trade.

What’s the most unusual thing in your desk drawer? Six Appeal CD’s – multiple copies of the same one – want to buy one?

Dan Weigel – Worship Arts Director dan@legacyumc.org

Dan, what is your role on staff?  Provide leadership in the planning and execution of all worship events.

Favorite Bible verse?  I will sing to the Lord as long as I live.  I will praise my God to my last breath!  Psalm 104:33

Favorite Joke?   Why was the musician arrested?  He was in treble!

What is the most unusual thing in your desk drawer?  Spare guitar strings.

Amanda Rue – Connections Director     amanda@legacyumc.org

Amanda, what is your role on staff? I follow-up with guests at Legacy and help people connect through classes and groups.

Favorite Bible verse? For out of the overflow of the heart, the mouth speaks.  Luke 6:45b

What is one of your weird quirks? I am a human jukebox.  When I hear parts of songs spoken in everyday conversations, I like to sing that song.

What’s the most unusual thing in your desk drawer? I primarily work from home at an old school desk from my hometown in Illinois, with an old pencil sharpener from my dad mounted to the top, next to an old chalkboard from my grandmother’s house.  In addition, I have four kids, so at any given day I am surrounded by unusual things.  The other day I found a LEGO ninja and LEGO batman sitting on the ledge of my chalkboard with conversation bubbles drawn on the board shouting, “You ROCK!” and “Go MOM!” So, unusual and encouraging!

JoAnn Early – Communications Director joann@legacyumc.org

JoAnn, what is your role on staff? I do a wide variety of things social media, printing, calendar updates, and more, but my favorite thing to do is to interact with the wonderful people that I work with, the people that call the office or visit us here at Legacy.

Favorite Bible verse? Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves.  Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too..  Philippians  2:3-4 and For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline. 2 Timothy 1:7

What is your favorite joke? How do you keep a knucklehead in suspense?

What’s the most unusual thing in your desk drawer? snacks, lots of snacks!

Vicky Vetter – Student Ministry Director vicky@legacyumc.org

Vicky, what is your role on staff? I am the Student Ministry Director, so I have the privilege to hang out with MS & HS students and their families, and oversee a team of AMAZING leaders that care for our teens!

Favorite Bible verse?  “Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.” Psalm 37:4     I love this verse because when I am pursuing a dream or desire, I know my main job is to follow Jesus, and he will smooth out the details.  However, at times when my goals have been off target from what I should be pursuing, by finding my joy first in the Lord I am confident he will change the desires of my heart to align with his, giving me even bigger dreams to follow.

What is your favorite joke?  I enjoy snarky grammar quips.  Like these:  The past, the present and the future walk into a bar.  It was tense.  – Anything unrelated to elephants is irrelephant.  – Your dinner vs. you’re dinner.  One gets you fed, the other leaves you dead.  Correct grammar saves lives.

What’s the most unusual thing in your desk drawer?   7 different computer cords and cables.  I have no idea what any one of them does.  I need a teenager to come help me sort out the technology.

Sam Mettler – Assistant Student Ministry Director sam@legacyumc.org

Sam, what is your role on staff? I am the Assistant Youth Ministry Director, so I have the privilege assisting Vicky with the hanging out with MS & HS students and their families, and help with the organization of the AMAZING team of leaders that care for our teens!

Favorite Bible verse? And now, dear brothers and sisters, on final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable.  Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.   Keep putting into practice all you learned and received from me- everything you heard from me and saw me doing.  Then the God of peace will be with you. Philippians 4:8-9   This verse reminds me how important it is to keep a positive mind set and keep seeking God’s direction.

What is one of your weird quirks? My weirdest quirk probably has to do with talking on the phone. For some reason for as long as I can remember, when I am on the phone I have to pace. We are not just talking about walking back and forth. I pace across our entire house. By the time I hang up if it’s a long conversation, you can almost see tracks!

What’s the most unusual thing in your desk drawer?   I actually don’t have a desk drawer! I prefer to do a lot of my work from the comfort of my couch. This comes with some unforeseen problems though. I can easily get side tracked in the wonders of what lies in the couch…my daughters toys, dog squeakers,  even a long misplaced cell phone that seems to have gotten swallowed right down into it!

Suzanne Thorenson – Legacy Kids & Elementary Director suzanne@legacyumc.org

Suzanne, what is your role on staff?  As Legacy Kids Ministry Director, I get the amazing opportunity to help build the faith of kids from nursery-age through 5th grade. I also lead an awesome team of 100+ volunteers who serve in Legacy Kids throughout the year.

Favorite Bible verse?  I have a lot of favorite Bible verses. Here are a couple that relate specifically to my ministry: “Make a careful exploration of who you are and the work you have been given, and then sink yourself into that. Don’t be impressed with yourself. Don’t compare yourself with others. Each of you must take responsibility for doing the creative best you can with your own life.” Galatians 6:4 (The Message) “If it seems we are crazy, it is to bring glory to God.” 2 Corinthians 5:13a (perfect for Kids Min!)

What is one of your weird quirks? I completely relate with kids who need to fidget. One of my quirks is that I can’t get through a work day, especially a meeting, without having something in my fingers to play with. I love my Thinking Putty!

What is the most unusual thing in your desk drawer? My favorite thing on my desk is my assortment of junk: a stuffed squirrel because I tend to chase a lot of them, VBS memorabilia from over the years, a box of crayons my son labeled “MINE,” and of course, photos of my family.

Nicole Champagne  Kid’s Connection Team & Nursery Director nicole@legacyumc.org

Nicole, what is your role on staff?  I am responsible for keeping volunteer files up to date and I make the name tags for everyone, and I do the scheduling and orientation for our awesome Nursery and Kids’ Connection Team volunteers.  I also fill in as a substitute leader when needed, and help with whatever is needed during special events.

Favorite Bible verse?  “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters” Colossians 3:23 NIV and  “Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship.” Romans 12:1 NIV.  They kind of go together.

What is one of your weird quirks? I have a solid, unwavering fangirl devotion to the 1986 Jim Henson movie “Labyrinth.”  I may or may not have nearly an entire room decorated with my memorabilia collection.

What is the most unusual thing in your desk drawer?    I usually have a rather large amount of white out tape on standby.

Ashley Steininger – Preschool Director ashley@legacyumc.org

Ashley, what is your role on staff?  It is my job to take what children learn on Sunday and reintroduce it in a new, exciting way Wednesday nights. I am also responsible for Legacy Kids summer services and assisting Suzanne in other programs and events; like VBS and fall kick off.

Favorite Bible verse? An absolute favorite verse would be impossible to choose but Matthew 5:16 is one I try to model my life after. I want to reflect my Father’s loving light in a way that makes people recognize without doubt that I am a Christian and that my God is so good. “In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.Mathew 5:16 NIV

What is one of your weird quirks? I startle ridiculously easily! Ask anyone on staff and I think they could tell you about a time they approached me and I screamed. I would like to think that its because I am totally in the zone when I am working…but my husband startles me easily at home too.

What is the most unusual thing in your desk drawer? Honestly, everything in my desk drawer is a little weird. Working in kids ministry means that I am always using fun stuff like pom-poms, play-doh, glitter, and googly-eyes. If you went into our office you would be able to identify my desk by the googly eyes that are stuck to all of my office supplies. Suzanne and Lee glued them on last April fools day and I think they are too cute to take down. Seriously, staplers look best with a pair of eyes.
