Our needs include a larger gathering space, a larger and more dynamic worship space, an expanded children’s ministry space, expanded and dedicated youth ministry space, expanded storage and parking spaces.

Need for larger gathering space

Our current gathering space, which is meant to offer radical hospitality and warmly welcome people to worship, is crowded, sterile and cramped. It is more of a hallway and avenue into our sanctuary than a place to welcome others as we enter the sanctuary to worship.

Need for new, dynamic and larger worship space

Our current sanctuary was built in the 1950s, and the current stage area is too crowded for our worship teams. The space is long and infl exible and diffi cult to create the intimacy necessary to foster passionate worship. Though we have a newer sound system, the sanctuary itself wasn’t designed for the acoustics necessary for today’s various audio/visual needs.

Need for expanded children’s ministry space

The current Sunday School rooms for our children are located upstairs on the third fl oor of our facilities. This isn’t obvious to visitors and makes it uncomfortable as they come to worship with us and are not sure where to bring their children. We also don’t have enough available classroom space for our growing Sunday school and educational programs. Our current classrooms are much too small and do not provide an adequate – much less an appropriate – atmosphere for Christian education. We currently have 75-85 students meeting weekly for assembly before they break out into their individual classrooms. The space used for this is crammed into a very small room.

Need for larger, dedicated youth ministry space

Currently between 30 and 40 young people actively participate in youth ministry at our church. Right now the space dedicated for this ministry is also at maximum capacity. The space is located in the basement adjacent to the Fellowship Hall. It is cramped, crowded, and unwelcoming for students. We have simply run out of space to adequately facilitate this growing ministry in our church.

Need for increased parking spaces

There are also not enough parking spaces at our current facilities. With only 53 spaces available for use, many if not most of our members and visitors need to park on the streets around our church building. This is frustrating for everyone as they attempt to fi nd places to park near our facilities, especially in times of inclement weather. It is also discouraging to visitors and does not provide the welcoming atmosphere we seek to portray.
