To address these needs we initiated the Legacy Bridge Campaign in 2008 and raised $1.5 million in cash and pledges.

To date we have almost $1 million of that in the bank and expect the remaining outstanding pledges to be fulfilled by the end of the calendar year.

Now we have the opportunity with this Legacy Build Campaign to not only finish our fundraising for the new facilities but to do so with little or no long term debt.

The conference has also given their encouragement and support for this important initia- tive as evidenced by this important statement:

What an exciting time it is to be a part of Legacy United Methodist Church. The leadership of your church is working hard to make a difference in the greater Bismarck Community for the sake of making God’s Kingdom more and more real here on earth. In this time in which it seems many churches are declining in membership, attendance, and influence for God’s Kingdom it is great to see that the Legacy Family has the desire and the vision to expand your ministry in North Bismarck and the entire community. Over 20 years ago the Dakotas Annual Conference began making plans to establish a new UM Church on Bismarck’s north side. We as a cabinet and conference are pleased to be in partnership with Legacy UMC to make that vision become a reality. Bishop Deb, myself and the rest of the cabinet support your vision to expand your ministry to children, young adults, and those of any age who wish to be disciples of Jesus Christ. Thank you for doing your part to help bring transformation not only to the Bismarck community, but to the world.

Together in Ministry,
Keith Nelson,
Sakakawea District Superintendent

All members are asked to consider gifts above and beyond what they give in their regular offerings and other contributions. And there is a variety of ways that gifts can be made.

3 Year Pledges

Long term subscriptions, or pledges payable over 3 years, are easier for most and essential to meeting our goal, since it would be impractical, if not impossible, to reach our objectives with one time, out-of-pocket gifts. Gifts may be made in monthly, quarterly, semi-annual or annual installments at the donor’s discretion.

Non-cash gifts

Non-cash gifts are an additional or alternative way you can support our cause. You may, for example, wish to consider gifts “in kind” such as labor and materials; gifts of securities such as stocks and bonds; gifts of real estate or even personal property such as artwork, automobiles, jewelry and antiques.

Deferred Gifts

You can also choose to support our efforts though deferred gifts. These are gifts that can be given or arranged for now, but will not be received until later, and include gifts through a person’s will by bequest, gifts of life insurance policies or annuities, and gifts in trust.
